Community Safety Guidelines

We at Muses value the safety of our members and want to provide you with safety best practices when working with one another on the platform.

As a Freelancer, when you are considering to accept work:

  • All payments must be received through the Muses platform to ensure safety and security for both sides and to comply to Muses Terms of Use. If anyone asks to pay you off the Muses platform (e.g. Paypal, Venmo, etc.) please report them immediately to mail@musesapp.com. Read more how payments work here.
  • Never start work unless you receive an official notification from Muses that you have been “HIRED” into a gig. This witholds funds from the business to ensure they have the funds needed to pay you at the end of the project.
  • Always provide a contract or an agreement before starting work. Have both parties review and sign. This keeps everyone involved honest and aligns expectations.
  • Review the other member’s website, social media, previous work history, etc. be wary of broken websites and incomplete information.
  • Keep records of communications, whether they’re in emails or screen shots from the app.
  • Maintain good communication with the client throughout your work to ensure work is performed according to expectations.
  • If you foresee extra costs in the project that is not originally communicated, be sure to agree on the new costs before continuing on the project.
  • Please make sure to review Muses T&Cs section 4. Gigs.

As a business, when you are considering to hire someone for work:
